Not everyone knows that
olive oil, besides being widely used in cooking, is also a valuable
ally for skincare: a genuine natural remedy that helps repair and
protect delicate skin.
That's why it's
perfect to use on lips, especially during the cold season. Olive oil, in fact, is rich in
vitamin E, which helps restore the lips' hydrolipidic film, supports cell renewal, and counters the appearance of free radicals.
This way, applying oil
prevents chapping and dryness of the skin.
Today we'll see how to make a
homemade lip balm using our precious olive oil.
Ingredients for DIY lip balm
- 5 grams of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 grams of beeswax
- 2 drops of sweet orange essential oil
Preparing the lip balm
Pour the
extra virgin olive oil and the
beeswax into a small cup or a small steel container and melt the ingredients in a double boiler.
Once they turn liquid, with the heat off, add two drops of
sweet orange essential oil.
At this point, pour the mixture obtained into a plastic container or, if you have one, into a lip balm stick and let it cool.
Your
natural olive oil lip balm is ready: apply it to
dry or chapped lips whenever you need it — it will help hydrate them and bring immediate relief!
